Working with a colleague (or 2) in class,
you will become our class expert on an issue you choose.
Your assignment is to work with 1-2 peers to pick a topic of interest about young adolescents. You will then create a 20 minute digital, interactive presentation for the class about the topic. Please keep in mind that your task is to make all of us want to think about your topic and figure out what it means for us as professional educators.
You must have a handout for the class which will include (but is not limited to) the following: Summary - Resources - References
Brainstorming: Quiet and Individual
Survey the following hyperlinked resources.
On a sheet of paper, list the topics that seem interesting to you. Write as many as you'd like.
Hierarchy
Review the brainstorming list you wrote on a sheet of paper.
Number them in a hierarchy according to your degree of interest.
Speed Dating
In a whirlwind, we'll go around the room, stopping and talking to everyone in the class. Your conversations will focus on your brainstormed topics of interest about young adolescents.
Topic Selection
Go back to classmates who seem to share your areas of interest about young adolescents. Form groups of 2 or 3 teacher candidates. Register on this Google Doc
